FAMILY LEGAL ADVICE CLINIC
HOW IT WORKS
Our Family Legal Advice sessions run every other Thursday 6pm – 8.30pm during term time (see below for our term dates 2024/25). We offer a 45-minute appointment with 2-3 of our law students, who will discuss your legal issue with you. No legal advice is given at the appointment, but you will then receive a legal advice letter up to 21 days after your appointment. We also offer a form filling service whereby up to 14 days after the interview you would receive a completed form, for example, your divorce application form.
All legal advice (including completed forms) is researched and written by our law students, but is supervised by a qualified and practising family solicitor or barrister. Therefore, all legal advice is accurate and tailored to your specific legal problem and questions. All our legal advice is free.
We accept referrals from organisations (legal or non-legal) and self-referrals. We offer face to face appointments at our offices near Oxford Circus or online/phone appointments.
We do not offer on-going legal advice, ‘take on’ your case as a solicitor would or advocate on your behalf at court. However, you are welcome to book another appointment if you require further advice.
